South Asian PP: Restocking demand supports COPOL prices / Block COPOL Price to Rise from April / Weak downstream demand for BoPP persists

Prices for South Asian polypropylene rose in the week ending March 26 due to increased demand, particularly in India, for cargoes arriving in April and expectations of a tightening of supply for certain grades. The PP raffia/injection at $980/mt, CFR South Asia was up $5/mt compared to the previous week. This is in line with the deals that were confirmed at $980/mt, and within the tradable indicators heard at $970-$990/mt. This assessment was above the buying indications of $960-970/mt. This week there were no new CFR offers from the Middle East, but CFR South Asia offers that are FOB China were higher than last week because of an increase in freight costs.
