The US import polyethylene Terephthalate
price was unchanged at $2,116-$2,138/mt (96 to 97 cents/lb) based on stable
pricing indicators. High
freight rates have contributed to strong import PET prices in the United
States. These rates have been steadily declining since June 22, but they remain high overall. The prices for North Asia to the US West Coast and East
coasts were $7,200-7,250/FEU and 9,700/FEU on July 5. Both were unchanged from
June 28. Southeast Asia to US West Coast
and East coast freight were assessed July 6 at $8,000/FEU respectively. This
