Year holiday saw Asian polypropylene CFR prices rise week-on-week Jan. 18. This
explains why they were higher this week. PP raffia China domestic price posted a Yuan
300/mt increase week-on-week to close at Yuan 7,900/mt January 18. A otherwise
quiet China domestic market experienced strong upward momentum this week. Some sources
reported that converter rates were as low at 30% to 40% during the week ending
Jan. 14, ahead of the holidays. Some traders were buying to hedge
their positions in anticipation of a post-Lunar New Year rebound. "Producer
