Asian Polycarbonate prices fall $15/mt as traders aim for stabilization / Supply could tighten due to turnarounds / Lower demand affects Asian exporters

On April 2, Asian polycarbonate prices were down $15/mt from the previous week at $1.520/mt for general-purpose extrusion grade and $1.530/mt for general-purpose molding grade. This was due to a decline in domestic Chinese prices and a lower demand on overseas markets. The main reason behind the price drop is the low upstream raw material prices and the lack of cost support for PC. A Chinese producer stated that the supply was sufficient in the first three months and downstream demand was low. This resulted in a price drop. The producer stated that "the international price will follow China's price and is expected to stabilize over time."
