Prices of Asian Glacial Acryl Acid are rising due to increased demand / GAA Price Supported by Previous Purchases IOC commissions first butyl Acrylate Plant H1 July

According to tradable indicators heard at Yuan 7500-7600/mt, the Chinese glacial acid market increased Yuan 100/mt per day and Yuan $150/mt per week. On June 24, it reached Yuan 7,500/mt. One domestic trader stated that downstream customers' appetite for GAA was slightly boosted, but most intend to purchase at a cheaper price. Prices are expected to stay stable or rise modestly. Many GAA producers have been supported by previous orders. Indian Oil Corp. will commission its first butyl-acrylate plant at the Gujarat Refinery Complex, Dumad, Vadodara in July, as reported previously. The website of the company states that the new plant has a production capacity of 150 000 mt/year. The process is based upon Mitsubishi Chemical technology and will produce 3,000 mt/year as iso-butanol.
