Asian Ethylene Prices Fall amid a growing deep-sea supply■  Asian producers are worried about increasing deep-sea imports■ Downstream outlook mixedThe prices in Asian ethylene markets
dropped in the week ending Sep. 23, as the increasing supply of deep-sea
ethylene continued to impact buying signals. The Asia deal levels fell
$50-$70/mt over the week. They closed at $900/mt CFR Northeast Asia and $910/mt
CFR Southeast Asia. The October spot
buying indications were heard at $850-870/mt of CFR Northeast Asia, as compared
to $900-905/mt of CFR NE Asia one week ago. Asia's ethylene producers expressed concern about the
possible influx of deep-sea material to Asia in Q4 and how this would affect
production for the next quarter. Northeast
Asian producers stated that ethylene prices are still high and it would be
difficult to lower operating rates...
