Asian Styrene Prices Rise by $14/MT During Tight Supply
in China■ Floating price rather than fixed-price is more appealing■ September Cargoes - NortheastAsia Producers in Northeast Asia were heard
discussing styrene on Sept. 2, with Chinese buyers emerging due to tight domestic
supplies. Producers
in Southeast Asia were reported to be thinking about exporting to India rather
than China, despite tight supply due to low freight rates to India. A number of producers in Northeast Asia expressed interest
in selling on a floating price basis, rather than fixed prices due to market
volatility. China's buyer said that the
current price negotiations on cargoes arriving in China in September were at
CFR China's floating price plus a premium between $20 and $30/mt. Producers in Northeast Asia stated that they heard selling
