Asian Butadiene prices fall $5 to $10/mt per day due to concerns over higher supplies / EU Tire probe weighs on sentiment / Asia SBR-butadiene spread below breakeven

On May 23, Asian butadiene fell between $5 and $10/mt per day, and between $10 and $35/mt per week due to fears about increased supplies and a bearish outlook for downstream rubber. The benchmark - CFR China Butadiene price fell $10/mt per day, to $1190/mt. The Asian butadiene markets cooled down after a week-over-week rise of $140-$190/mt, on May 16. This was weighed down a sharp drop in rubber futures from China. According to data from the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most actively traded PBR June futures dropped Yuan 365/mt per day on May 23 to Yuan 11,750/mt.
