- Weaker China supply prices- Sources expect demand to
rebound in September

Asian Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene
prices were assessed down by $10-15/mt on the week at $1,500-1,530/mt CFR China
and lowered by $10-15/mt at $1,550-1,580/mt CFR Southeast Asia on July 27. The international market heard the offer steady
at $1520-$1,530/mt China for forwarding August arrivals while the buying signal
was heard at $1450-1480/mt. Despite the lower ABS operation rates,
trade volume remained low. The prompt delivery price in China's
domestic market was Yuan 11,775-11.825/mt (on July 27), or $1,460-1,466/mt if
you use import parity. Market sources predict that demand will rebound
from September due to the Christmas demand and China-US Trade talks to remove
tariffs. This will increase demand for the final good. On July 27,
the Asian ABS margin was negative at $45.5-50.50/mt.
