Price Support Expected from CPL Production Cuts / Chinese domestic prices have stabilised

The price of Asian caprolactam continued to fall in the week ending March 27 due to weaker benzene upstream prices and low demand. CFR Far East Asia Caprolactam Prices down $25/mt in a week to $1,390/mt on March 27. This is within the trading range of $1 385-$1,395/mt. This assessment took into account the weakening of upstream benzene. CFR Southeast Asia was also assessed at $1,380/mt less for the week ending March 27. This is in line with CFR Far East Asia. The CPL market continues to be adversely affected due to the weak benzene price and poor environment. A Far East Asian buyer explained the reason for the price drop over the past week.
