the positive trend in domestic China, Asian styrene monomer was valued at
$15/mt- $25/mt at $1.325/mt-$1.350/mt CFR China May 12, the prompt marker
was assessed at Yuan 145/mt- Yuan 165/mt, Yuan 10,010/mt exp-tank. This equates
to $1,290.60/mt- $1,310.80/mt if you consider import-parity. FOB China talks were muted on May 12th, but a source said that
indicators weakened due to slower demand. The
market's downstream demand for Europe has slowed, and the increasing supply
from other regions has also affected China's export markets. One Asian buyer stated that the selling and buying gap was
widening on a FOB China basis as the offer levels were stable despite
