- As styrene liquidity continues to be low, there is
little support for benzene prices- Trinseo's Terneuzen has been restarted, Netherlands
styrene facility



The week ended February 10, despite an
increase in liquidity in downstream styrene markets and confirmation that
Europe's styrene production is restarting, saw benzene prices fall. The market was still flooded
with plenty of supply, which posed a problem for demand. The forward delivery laycan for five to thirty days was
$1,014.50-1,054/mt. This is 50c/mt less than the day before due to the back wardated
structure that was in place between February & March and $12.75-16.95/mt
this week. Spot liquidity in the styrene
markets continued to be strong with many producers being heard throughout the
