Prices rose slightly in the week ending
February 10, as higher upstream costs led to a slight increase. However, there
may be some resistance from downstream markets that could halt further upward
momentum. The
week-on-week price increases were due in large part to higher upstream propane
prices and lower supply. This was because propane dehydrogenation plants
reduced operation rates to meet high costs. According to some sources, cracker operation rates were
around 70%-80%, further hindering supply. Although
price gains on a daily basis were strong in the first week of the week, market
sources reported a slowing trend in price momentum over the last few days due
