truck spread, barges now command a premium Eur15/mt, driven by low PET demand,
while PET producers have reduced operating rates due to high paraxylene cost
and weak consumer demand. According
to sources, the longer truck supply is also impacting prices. Eur645/mt FCA AR was assessed for trucks, and Eur660/mt ARA
was assessed for barges. This flips a Eur15/mt premium on barges to a Eur15/mt
discount on barges. Buyer reluctance also led to buying interest at levels as
low as Eur630/mt. Sellers stated that they
would not go below this level this week. A
distributor stated, "I lost... [business]...
