Asian butadiene prices rose
between $40 and $50 per mt on Sept. 1, due to the prompt demand from China
following the sharp rise in the local market. In the week ending Aug.
28, the domestic Chinese market surged due to falling inventory after several
export transactions. According to trading
sources, a supplier had committed at least two cargoes to export. China's Sinopec maintained its local price at Yuan 8,800/mt or $1,109/mt based on import parity, Sept. 1. This was after it raised by Yuan
1,000/mt over the week. Spot butadiene in
China increased from Yuan 200/mt daily to Yuan 9,200/mt in September. The CFR China price is lower than the local China butadiene
