The week ending Oct. 12 was a
better week for polypropylene in China and Southeast Asia. PP Raffia Far East
Asia prices rose $20-$26/mt to $960-$980/mt. As the market recovered
from the Golden Week holidays, trading levels in China rose from Oct. 8 to Oct. 9. Sales momentum has slowed over the last few days due to
post-holiday replenishment. As industry
sources raised concerns about a possible supply glut, the demand outlook for
the year ended was dim. The stronger crude
was the main driver of the post-holiday price rise. But, the fundamentals remain weak. A source based in China said that the export markets are
