Prices of South Asian polypropylene rose during the week ending June 18. This was due to higher feedstock prices and freight rates, as tensions escalated in the Middle East over the last few days. The raffia/injection PP grade was $955/mt, CFR South Asia. This is $15/mt higher than the previous week. It's still below the lowest offer, which was $965/mt, CFR South Asia. However, it falls within the range of tradable indicators, between $950 and $960/mt. According to market sources, most Middle East PP producers withdrawn their offers or offered limited quantities at higher price. They offer CFR, but shipping has been affected by the current turmoil.
