South Asian PP : Prices fall on the easing US Dollar; market activity is thin / Source COPOL Market to grow by - 12% YOY this year, according to Sources

Prices of polypropylene in South Asia fell during the week ending April 2, mainly because of a weaker US dollar, and due to moderate activity after Eid al Fitr. Demand for certain grades was robust, however, due to expectations of a tightening of supply and a good downstream demand. The PP raffia/injection at $975/mt, CFR South Asia is down $5/mt compared to the previous week. This price is below the offer of $980/mt, but within the range of tradable indicators heard between $970 and $980/mt. This assessment was above the buying indications of $960-970/mt. In the week leading up to April 2, few CFR offers were heard for Middle East-origin materials due to low activity during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
