South Asian PP : Prices fall on the easing US Dollar market activity thin /Source: COPOL Market to grow by 12% YoY this year

Prices of South Asian polypropylene fell in the week ending April 2, mainly because of a weaker US dollar, and moderate activity following Eid al Fitr. Demand for certain grades remained strong on the expectation of tightening supplies and good downstream demand. The assessment was also above buyingindications heard at $960-$970/mt. This assessment was also higher than the buying indications of $960-$970/mt. Few CFR offers were heard for Middle East origin material in the week prior to April 2, due to low activity during the Eid al Fitr holidays. China-based sellers offered on FOB basis, with some offering prices that were close to those heard from the Middle East, due to increased freight rates and delays on the China-India routes.
