Prices of South Asian polypropylene rose during the week ending June 18. This was due to higher feedstock prices and freight rates, as tensions escalated in the Middle East over the last few days. The PP raffia/injection at $955/mt, CFR South Asia is up $15/mt from the previous week. This price is below the lowest offer and confirmed at $965/mt, CFR South Asia. It also falls within the range of tradable indicators heard between $950 and $960/mt. According to market sources, most Middle East PP producers withdrawn their offers or offered limited quantities at higher price. They offer CFR, but shipping has been affected by the current turmoil.
