As slower demand, weaker downstream and resurfacing of trade uncertainty weighed heavily on the market, the Chinese nylon-6 market reversed the gains it had made since the trade optimism rebounded during the week ending June 4. The majority of nylon-6 producers reduced their offer levels to levels seen in May before the trade optimism recovery. The market is still weak with PA-6 prices and benzene returning to their pre-rebound level, according to a producer in Northeast Asia. Demand, he added, was limited to a need-to-know basis, as downstream buyers carefully manage inventory over the summer slowdown.
