Asian PP: Prices continue to be supported by tight supplies- Chinese converter market expected to slowly recover- Southeast Asia Higher Despite Tepid DemandHigh offer prices and bullish expectations
for Asian polypropylene CFR prices led to a week-on-week increase in prices
week after week February 1. The
domestic PP raffia price in China rose Yuan 100/mt to Yuan 8000/mt. China's market participants are still waiting for a spike in
demand after the Lunar New Year holidays. Trade proceedings were mostly muted
this week. Sources say that although the
average production rate was 88%, it is expected that downstream production
volumes will increase slowly as factory workers return to work. A China-based market source said that many factories would
have to wait until Monday for official resume. Market sources are monitoring whether a China-Southeast Asia
