Asian Paraxylene Falls $20-25/mt, in line with upstream■ The average price of PX-naphtha was $396.23-420.50/mt for
the week of August 22■ The
market is in tight supply and low demandThe week ended Aug. 26 saw Asian paraxylene
close on a bearish note. This is a departure from previous gains and a weaker
market momentum amid upstream volatility. The average month-to-date average is $1,077.56-1,100.50/mt.
However, it fell $20-25/mt during the day and rose $4-5/mt over the week to
$1.069-2.500/mt CFR Taiwan/China Aug. 26. Paraxylene
was the next to suffer from the weakness in feedstock naphtha over the week.
The spread of PX-naphtha averaged $396.23-420.50/mt for the week ending Aug.
22, an increase of $0.40-1.50/mt. The
September supply loss was expected to have a limited effect on the price
reaction. Sinopec Hainan will close its
