In the week ending April 2, Asian polypropylene market were either stable or slightly weaker. Sources said that import demand was low in China because domestic cargoes are cheaper. Major countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand experienced a drop in business during Ramadan. Sources claim that the slowdown in Vietnam's demand was due to macroeconomic uncertainty. Due to the impending road closures during Lebaran, which will last until April 7, Indonesian buyers were not interested in purchasing. Indonesia and Vietnam are usually short on PP but restock as needed.
