The Asian ethylene dichloride prices moved
up on the week Jan. Prices in the Asian ethylene
dichloride market rose on the weekb> /b>Jan. According to
some sources, the mood turned bullish when a major Northeast Asian supplier of
PVC increased prices by about $70-$90/mt over the previous week. The price
spread between PVC & VCM was $195-210/mt Jan. 5, which is higher than the
usual breakeven spread of $150-170/mt. Data showed that China-based
analysts are optimistic about longer-term demand prospects for the first
trimester of 2023, as China's COVID spike will likely to reduce buying. Some
industry sources were concerned that rising sentiments could lead to an
oversupply situation. While PVC prices are high, buyers outside India
