In the week ending March 19, Asian polypropylene market conditions were mostly stable or slightly weak, reflecting a subdued sentiment on the Chinese market. Vietnam and the rest of Southeast Asia remained stable despite ongoing discussions. Due to the impending Ramadan road restrictions, Indonesian buyers are not showing much interest. Some converters hold back on purchases because they expect that the gradual decline in crude prices will result in lower polymer costs. Participants on the market noted that bank loans are tightening in Asia. This has led to a reduction in purchasing power for converters.
