Asia PP: Stable or slightly weaker amid low demand / Buying interest in Indonesia is weak during Lebaran holidays / Ample supply from China of homopolymers

Sources said that the import demand in China was low because domestic cargoes were cheaper. Malaysia and Indonesia, two major countries in Southeast Asia, experienced a slowdown of business operations during Ramadan. In Indonesia, the lack of buying interest in PP was due to the impending road restrictions for Lebaran until April 7. Indonesia and Vietnam had a shortage of PP, but there was a weak demand for finished goods. Converters restocked as needed. Some sources expect pricesto be rangebound until 2026 or until there are more capacityrationalizations in the region.An ample supply of homopolymers was heard, particularly fromChina, traders said. A producer also said that if propylene were produced as a by-product of gasoline production they would not be concerned about the propylenemarket dynamics.
