The US ethylene price started the week on a
steady-to-slightly lower note Nov. 21. Choctaw prices remained stable, while
Mont Belvieu's prices rose. Choctaw prices remained unchanged at
21.125c/lb and 21.625c/lb FD Choctaw for November and December. Mont
Belvieu prices increased 0.50 cents per day to 22.25 cents/lb FD Mont Belvieu
in November and December. Prices were being driven up by
higher bids. Although sources did not provide any information
on why prices rose, market participants have previously stated that outages in
the market were responsible for the increase in prices. Sources
familiar with company operations confirmed that Bayport Polymers 1,000,000
