The European styrene spot
markets continued to show a steep backwardation as of April 28. There was talk
of an increase in supply in May's second half. A source stated that the backwardation had been present for
some time and has been pushed back. "We keep riding the wave,"
another source said. Some players suggested
that recent plant outages might be fixed before May's end, and that styrene
supplies will likely increase in the second half. According to one source, more styrene was available from
