- Asia butadiene-naphtha spread reaches new 8-month low- Market players look for Korea-US arb opportunitiesAsian butadiene was steady to $10-$15/mt
less day on November 4, with the CFR China butadiene prices hitting a 10-month
low at $750-$770/mt on Nov. 4. This was due to continued weakness in China. China's demand for
butadiene has been declining due to economic slowdown. According to market
sources, the Yuan 500- Yuan550/mt weekly drop in local China market was also
evident.





Yuan 7,000/mt (or $837/mt if you use an
import-parity basis) on Nov. 4. This is due to the narrowing spread of
naphtha and butadiene. The CFR
Japan Naphtha price increased $5-$6/mt on November 4. Some market sources
claimed that some South Korean suppliers were discussing moving their cargoes
