Prices of Asian mono
ethylene glycol rose on 28 April due to tight supply. This is because deliveries
to China have been slow and inventories are low. Sources claimed that there was a vessel shortage in China
due to congestion at ports. This could be explained by reduced manpower during lockdowns.
However, container shortage problems seem to have improved. Sources said that shipping to Southeast Asia was smooth but
that there was a backlog on routes to Northeast Asia. Sources claimed that shipping to the US was still expensive
and that there were difficulties shipping the product as well as the downstream
