The cost pressures supported the stability of Asian caprolactam in the week ending June 26. "Crude oil and benzene have returned to their pre-war prices but remained high throughout the month of May. A buyer source said that CPL prices were therefore supported. Export prices were stabler during the crude pullback compared to the Chinese market. However, export prices lagged behind during the surge in crude prices. One producer source said, "We are at the cost-line now, and there is no room for retreat." Although Unv1’s China Petrochemical Development Corporation is still in process of fixing the July contract price, market sources expect that prices will be stable or even higher.
