- EPC rises by 2 cents per day; Choctaw stable- High ethane prices and motivation outage support market



The US spot ethylene prices were
steady-to-slightly lower on the day due to increased market participation and
many trades, bids, and offers reported that day. A source said that ethane
prices are rising due to high natural gas prices. Today's natural gas settlement was 46.3 cents higher at
$7.479-8.500/MMBtu, which is the highest front-month settle rate since June 13.
Ethane was also assessed at 67c/gal, which is the highest value since that
date. July EPC ethylene rose 2cs to 25
cents/lb Fd Mont Belvieu. This was based upon two ethylene trades that were
heard at this level. August EPC ethylene
also rose 2 cents to 24.75c/lb FD Mont Belvieu, despite a flat July/August
