In the week ending March 26, Asian polypropylene market was stable or slightly weaker. Southeast Asia traders reported that China had the most competitive offers. Sources said that import demand was low in China because domestic cargoes are cheaper. Major countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand experienced a drop in business activity during Ramadan. Sources claim that the slowdown in Vietnam's demand is due to macroeconomic uncertainty. Due to the impending road closures during Ramadan, Indonesian buyers showed little interest in purchasing. Traders reported that homopolymers were in plentiful supply, especially from China.
