marketsThe increasing supply of recycled
polypropylene in Europe caused pricing to slide into bearishness over the week
ending Jan. 11. In
the early stages of the week, the market for black pellets saw an increase in
prices. This was due to tighter supply during the winter holiday season. The material became more readily available as more people
returned to the market. This increased buyer demand. Spot prices for recycled polypropylene black pellets at
Eur980/mt NWE Jan. 11, down by Eur15/mt on day and up by Eur30/mt weekly on
week. Weak buyer interest was attributed
to limited derivative demand for recycled materials, and weak macroeconomic
