The Asian Propylene markets saw little
trade on Nov. 3. Participants remained on the sidelines due to weak downstream
polypropylene demand. Market
sources stated that the PP supply glut continues to dampen propylene demand.
This was because buyers were trying to reduce PP inventories and propylene
purchases were made on a need basis. Buyers
said that the outlook was uncertain due to a fall in Chinese domestic market
prices. Some propane dehydrogenation
plants in China have increased operating rates, increasing propylene supply. A buyer in China stated that there is ample supply so they
don't feel the need to buy now. We are
having difficulty selling our PP and the outlook for Q4 being bearish means
