Asian spot propylene prices rose Nov. 7, as
a result of gains in the upstream crude oil markets. This was a positive sign
for sentiment in Chinese domestic markets. Despite the weak downstream PP, margins in
China's domestic market for PP have increased recently and prompted a slight
increase in buyer appetite. Market sources stated that buyers
are still reluctant to stockpile cargoes because of China's COVID-19 lockdown
measures. Market participants stated that there was a
possibility of a rebound in China's downstream trade volumes due to favorable
US dollar-Chinese Yuan exchange rates, and the resumption global travel.
