implosion. Participants noted that the market was still in a stagnant
state due to limited downstream derivative demand. They also pointed out that
there was little appetite for food packaging, as all sectors had low buying
power. This week saw a sharper disconnect between spot and contractual
markets. Market participants noted that some players were targeting price
increases in the former market while simultaneously lowering spot prices to
increase buying interest and boost competition against imported
