Asian polyethylene prices remained largely unchanged in the week leading up to the 4th of June, with the majority of negotiations for cargoes in June having been concluded in the prior week. According to sources on the market, in China, there was a tighter supply due to the usual turnaround season between May and July. According to a Chinese trader, "Although demand is low, prices will not change much in the short term due to the ongoing turnarounds" in China. Due to the geopolitical instability, there are fewer opportunities for exports. Trading was subdued in Southeast Asia as buyers had sufficient stock for the short term.
