Asian paraxylene fell $20-25/mt to
$1,055.33-1,080.50/mt CFR China on Aug. 31 and $1,035.33-1,050.50/mt FBO Korea
on August 31, both dragged lower due to weak crude oil, upstream naphtha, and
increased market volatility. October
ICE Brent crude oil fell $7.13/b to $97.41/b by 0830 Asian close on Aug. 31. C+F
Japan naphtha dropped $42-49/mt on August 31 at $638.5-650/mt. This brought the
paraxylene/naphtha spread down to $416.83-430/mt. The average CFR Unv1/China paraxylene marker was $1,076.07-1,100.50/mt
for August, a drop of $45.73-50.25/mt over the July monthly average. Paraxylene was affected by the Market on Close downtrend in
the energy sector. All registered bids were withdrawn and an Asia-origin
