Due to upstream
volatility, prices in Asian PET markets rose in the week ended April 20. The overall market sentiment in China remains somewhat
bearish. Feedstock and finished goods are
facing challenges due to the ongoing logistical restrictions. Producers are feeling the effects of the shortage of raw
materials and the inability to deliver the finished goods. Some have even suggested
that they might be considering closing down their plants. Many domestic traders believe that the COVID-19 lockdown
situation is improving and there is more optimism. The Shanghai-based lifting of restrictions could help the
polyester chain and the gradual return to demand, they said. Enquires from Europe and the US are starting to wane in
