Asian polycarbonate: prices unchanged despite higher upstream costs / Chinese demand slows / East China BPA prices rise Yuan 275/mt

The price of Asian polycarbonate remained unchanged for the week ending April 23. For general-purpose mold grade, it was $1,515/mt, CFR China, and for extrusion, it was $1,525/mt, CFR China. South Korean producers have issued new offers at $1,520/mt and $1,530/mt respectively for delivery in May. No trades have been reported because of the weak demand by downstream buyers. The producer stated that buyers are taking a wait-and see attitude ahead of Labor Day in China. The rising feedstock costs of bisphenol-A has supported polycarbonate despite a lull in demand. The domestic East China Bisphenol-A Price at Yuan 9,300/mt was Yuan 275/mt higher than the previous week, but Yuan 25/mt lower day over day.
