Asia rise- Southeast Asia supplies remain limitedPrices for Asian CFR polypropylene were
mixed this week, Jan. 11, due to the different supply-demand imbalances. China's local prices fell
by Yuan 150/mt each week due to pre-Lunar New Year sluggishness. They settled
at Yuan 7,600/mt Jan. 11. Sources said
that COVID-19-induced absenteeism and pent up travel demand have kept
downstream operation rates low. However, the post-holiday mood remains positive
due to lower inventories for buyers and suppliers. One source stated that prices will not rise in February
because of the seasonal lull. However, longer-term optimism remains, at least
