week-on-week in the Southeast Asian and South Asian markets on Jan. 4, amid
tight spot supply. However, CFR China prices fell slightly. Preholiday stockpiling
caused slow trading in China on a CFR basis at the beginning of 2023, while
downstream factories were trying to close before the Lunar New Year. The domestic east China market prices dropped in the week
ending Dec. 30, following the futures market. However, they recovered
