Petrokemya undertakes unplanned shutdown at SM plant

Petrokemya has taken its two Styrene monomer (SM) units offline last week. A source in Saudi Arabia informed a team member, “The company has halted operations at the plant in mid-January, 2026, owing to production issues. Further details on the duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, the two units have a production capacity of No.1 570,000 mt/year and No.2 570,000 mt/year.
