Petrobras increases RNEST processing capability with completion of Train 1 work

The modernization of Train I at the Abreu e Lima Refinery in Ipojuca in Pernambuco has been completed by Petrobras. The REVAMP process (review and expansion) received an investment of R$93million and will increase the unit's capacity to process oil from 115,000 barrels per day to 130,000. This is a 17% rise over the previous plan. RNEST is of strategic importance for Brazil as it is Petrobras main hub in North and Northeast Regions, with easy cabotage access to the consumer markets. We are now going to finish Train 2 and double refinery processing capacity. It is a higher investment with a high return to society," said Magda Chabriard, CEO of Petrobras.
