Asian polyethylene terephthalate prices were unchanged inthe week ended April 2, as Northeast Asia saw stable to firm offers, while Southeast Asian sellers were less willing to accept low bids, citing strength in upstream crude. bottle-grade PET FOB Northeast Asia at$795/mt April 2, unchanged week over week. Similarly, PETFOB Southeast Asia was assessed stable at $865/mt over the same period. Despite an increase in crude oil prices and feedstock costsover the week, tradable levels for Chinese seaborne cargo areheard to remain unchanged given the overall lackluster demand.In upstream markets, PTA CFR China rose $2/mt week overweek to $645/mt on April 2 and MEG CFR China increased $1/mtto $530/mt over the same period.While the overall inventory pressure for bottle-grade PETcontinues to ease in China, sources anticipate inventory levelsto rise in April...
