and EU- The peak of polyester demand is usually in MarchThe trading activity in Asia's polyethylene
terephthalate market was very limited during the seven-day period to Jan. 4, as
many market participants had yet to return to work after the year end holidays. Spot activity for PET
chips in bottles was low because most buyers were covered in the short term,
according to a Chinese producer. Due to
weak demand and a shorter month before the Lunar New Year, the downstream
operating rates were lower. There were few
discussions about PET exports as most buyers from the US and EU were absent. As finished goods manufacturing plants were operating at low
rates, demand remained weak in the yarn...
