polyethylene Terephthalate markets saw a slowdown in demand. According to a Chinese
producer, while week-on-week PET chip sales continued to decline, operating
margins remained stable and supported current operating rates of 90%-100%. Operating rates could be reduced if PET demand continues to
decline, despite a weak forecast for December and January. A producer from Southeast Asia said that buyers were not
buying PET because of falling prices. This was despite uncertainty downstream. The producer stated that Q4 demand is typically weak and
