sentiment in Asian PET markets, as sellers reported an increase in restocking activities and a successful rise in prices for polyester yarn. Market participants were
cautious as the temporary increase in prices and restocking activity was only
temporary due to low finished goods facility operating rates in China. "It is possible that the restocking was just to
replenish some stock since most buyers buy only as needed nowadays. A producer in China stated that it is not clear if the
demand increase will continue. China's
average operating rate was 79%, up 3% from its previous week's 76% average. Producers said that production margins were still negative
